The typically charismatic and talkative LSU Football Coach Les Miles has been quiet in wake of junior cornerback Tyrann Mathieu’s surprise dismissal Friday.
Miles shied away from controversial topics during his Tuesday press conference in favor of focusing on his current, Mathieu-less football team.
“I am certainly rooting for Ty and whatever his future is,” Miles said. “But I’m not focused on that. I’ve got games to play [and]104 [players] I have to be ready for.”
Miles ignored the flurry of media speculation on why the Heisman hopeful was removed from the team and what the future holds for the Honey Badger.
Miles reconfirmed, however, that Mathieu would not be on the team this season.
“I am not in any way speculating,” Miles said. “He will not be on this team this year. That’s a fact. I have no idea beyond that.”
