The University and the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center are joining together to host two internationally renowned researchers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, according to a University news release.John Boone, University of California at Davis Medical Center vice chair of radiology, and Polad Shikhaliev, Imaging Medical Physics Group assistant professor, will be on campus Thursday speaking at a seminar titled “Dedicated Breast CT Imaging System.”Boone and Shikhaliev are both researching ways to conduct computed tomography (CT) imaging systems in breast cancer as part of a comprehensive diagnostic breast examination, according to the release.The seminar will be from 5 to 6 p.m. in room 435 of the Nicholson Annex.—-Contact J.J.
