The University Registrar announced two changes to the 2006 academic calendar on Tuesday .
The first day of scheduling for the fall 2006 semester has been moved from March 26 to April 2.
The summer session commencement will be held Aug. 11 instead of Aug. 10.
Robert Doolos, university registrar, said the scheduling date was moved to coincide with the Spring Invitational, a program that orients high school seniors.
Spring Invitational students schedule at the end of the weeklong program, and Doolos said scheduling needs to be the same week as the program.
Doolos said summer commencement was moved to Aug. 11 so it would take place on a Friday – the same day of the week the fall and spring semester commencements occur.
