Justin Timberlake made a stop on his FutureSex/LoveShow Tour in New Orleans on March 1. The Memphis-born performer thrilled the New Orleans Arena with his show, which was full of highly-choreographed dance moves and hit songs. When the lights and music cued Timberlake’s show, the arena filled with high-pitched screams from nearly every woman there. He opened his FutureSex/LoveShow with the title track from his album, “FutureSex/LoveSound.” The stage soon filled with backup dancers in skimpy outfits. Timberlake set the tone for the show with this first song, letting the audience know he really was bringing sexy back. During the course of the concert, he sang every track from his “FutureSex/LoveSounds” album. He also performed many of the hits from his first album, “Justified,” and gave a nod to his *NSYNC roots while performing their song “Gone.” The show was different from Timberlake’s performances in the *NSYNC concerts of the late ’90s. While the show was filled with many impressive choreographed dance sequences, he also proved his talent extends far beyond his voice and his dance moves by playing the guitar on “Like I Love You,” serenading the crowd while playing the piano on many slower songs and even playing the keytar for one song. Timberlake closed the show with the song, “(Another Song) All Over Again.” He praised the hospitality of New Orleans and commended the morale of the city while serenading the remaining audience. The show lasted nearly two and a half hours, and the audience remained energetic for the length of the show. Timberlake has the uncanny ability to turn a self-respecting, mature college student into a screaming preteen. He did more than perform – he is an all-around entertainer, and he charmed the entire arena. If one didn’t go into the concert in love with Timberlake, he or she certainly left feeling differently.
