If Nick Saban misses being at a University with a live mascot, then there’s hope for him yet.
This past week the University of Alabama Student Government Association passed a resolution that will research the possibility of bringing a live elephant to their Tuscaloosa campus.
R.B. Walker, Alabama SGA president, said a committee is researching the logistics to see if the university could responsibly care for an elephant. He said making sure the elephant is given adequate care is an utmost concern. The resolution names other Southeastern Conference schools, such as LSU, Auburn and Tennessee, that have live mascots for home football games. Walker said the resolution passed is not to actually bring an elephant to campus, but rather to simply investigate the possibility.
