No. 6 LSU defeated No. 9 Arkansas, 196.150-195.800, in from of 3,045 in the PMAC on Friday night. LSU (11-2, 4-2) was above their season average on three of four events. Meanwhile, Arkansas (6-4, 3-3) never hit their season average on any event. However Arkansas swept the all-around. The Tigers started out the meet with a season-high 49.275 on the vault that was capped by Clare-Kearney’s season-high 9.95 to win the title. Junior Kayla Rogers led the Tigers off with a career-high 9.90 to tie for second. The Tigers then posted a 49.225 on the bars. Clare-Kearney, LSU sophomore Staci Schwitkis, and Arkansas junior Casey Jo Magee tied for the event title with a 9.875. LSU led at the half-way point, 98.500-98.050. The Tigers came out strong on the beam, posting 9.75s and higher, before Clare-Kearney had her first fall on the beam since Jan. 16 against Georgia. Jackson finished with a 9.85 to tie for third and bring the Tigers’ beam score to 49.150. Junior Summer Hubbard posted a season-high 9.90 to tie for the beam title, her second of the season. LSU finished up the night with a 48.500 on the floor. Clare-Kearney followed up her fall on the beam with a season-high 9.975 to win the floor title.
