The LSU volleyball team was up two sets to one in their quest to avenge an early-season loss to Kentucky.
But the Wildcats stood tall and defended their No. 7 ranking in a five set victory [23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-25, 12-15], sending LSU to their second Southeastern Conference loss of the season — both to Kentucky.
“We couldn’t finish in the end and I thought we played safe when the match was on the line,” said LSU coach Fran Flory. “Kentucky played with a lot of confidence and made plays when they have the opportunity where we didn’t.”
The Tigers will attempt to avenge the loss on Monday when the team travels to play Tennessee.
