The University community should prepare for severe weather, likely to impact the area from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, according to a broadcast e-mail from the LSU Emergency Operations Center.
East Baton Rouge Parish is under a tornado warning until 7 p.m. tonight, and 2-3 inches of rain is expected.
Flash flooding may occur in low-lying areas, such as Acadian Thruway, the Governor’s Mansion area and Burbank Drive, according to the e-mail.
The EOC urges students and faculty to use extreme caution if venturing outside. More information can be found on the University’s homepage.
