AUBURN, Ala. — The LSU men’s tennis team earned three victories on Saturday at the Auburn Spring Classic and will enter the final day of the tournament at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on Sunday.Senior James Cluskey, sophomore Sebastian Carlsson and freshman Mark Bowtell each notched a singles victory in day two of tournament play.Cluskey earned a win in three sets to push past Virginia Tech’s Nicholas Delgado in flight one. After losing the first set 3-6, Cluskey worked through the next two sets to produce a 6-4, 6-4 mark and win the match.Carlsson edged out Virginia Tech’s Pedro Graber, ranked No. 100 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, by a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 mark.Bowtell remained consistent and marked his second singles victory of the tournament against Virginia Tech’s Sebastien Jacques in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. “James and Sebastian gave us some big wins at the top of the lineup,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “Mark continues to grow and every day reaches new heights.”LSU resumes action against Auburn at 1:30 p.m. CDT on Sunday to wrap tournament play.Auburn Spring ClassicJan. 23-25Auburn, Ala.All Times CentralDoublesFlight 1(VT) #20 N.
