The Louisiana house of representatives formally authorized the governor to use $99 million of the rainy-day fund on Wednesday, closing the $304 million dollar budget deficit and ending the special legislative session hours before the deadline was up. By approving the resolution, the House restored cuts to education and significantly reduced cuts to healthcare.
