Two University students were struck in a hit-and-run incident near the Music and Dramatic Arts Building around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday.Sudarshan Singh Thapa, 19, and Shrabya Poudyal, 20, were walking “in the area of a crosswalk” on Dalrymple Drive when they saw a maroon-colored vehicle coming toward them, said Sgt. Blake Tabor, LSU Police Department public information officer.Tabor said Thapa tried to push Poudyal from the vehicle’s path, but both were struck in the left leg.Tabor said both victims received minor injuries — including abrasions on their left legs and an abrasion on Poudyal’s left eye, which Tabor said probably came when Thapa tried to push her out of harm’s way.Tabor said there was little information available on the suspect, but said LSUPD was searching for the vehicle.LSUPD escorted the victims home, and Tabor said officers would talk to them again once they were home. Neither victim would provide a statement to The Daily Reveille.
