The University has received a $15 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.
The money was granted through the NIH IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence program.
The grant is centered in the School of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Biological Science in the College of Science. It will mainly aid the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network.
The purpose of the five-year grant is to further biomedical research activities in Louisiana. The overall goal is to create a stronger biomedical workforce in the future.
