LSU Softball Coach Beth Torina spoke to reporters Friday night following the longest softball game in LSU history. The game, a 19-inning, pitcher’s duel, lasted over four and a half hours.
A softball game is usually seven innings; the game was on track to be quite short as the first seven innings were completed in under two hours. However, stunning performances by both pitchers and defenses prolonged the game an extra 12 frames.
Both teams were so deserving tonight; it’s tough,” Torina said.
