The LSU softball team got back to the winning ways it enjoyed during a 15-5 non-conference record, securing its first win of Southeastern Conference schedule Saturday night at Tiger Park.
Junior pitcher Brittany Mack secured the victory, only allowing four hits and one earned run, to lead the Tigers past No. 24 Kentucky, 2-1.
LSU’s (16-12, 1-6 SEC) winning run came when freshman infielder Tammy Wray was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded against Kentucky junior pitcher Chanda Bell.
The Tigers jumped to a 1-0 lead after junior outfielder Ashley Langoni recorded an RBI double to score junior infielder Juliana Santos.
The Wildcats bested LSU, 1-6, on Friday night to open the series.
The teams will square off Sunday at 1 p.m. to decide the series.
