The LSU women’s tennis team faced a tough week, and the rain didn’t help their cause. Inclement weather made play impossible Sunday at the Rice Fall Invitational in Houston and Wednesday at the ITA/Riviera All-American Qualifying tournament in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Five Lady Tigers played singles in Houston, and all five lost their first-round matches. Freshman Rebecca Bodine advanced all the way to the consolation finals in her bracket after losing her first match of the tournament.
Sophomores Yvette Vlaar and Ariel Morton won their first-round doubles match Friday, 8-4. The pair lost its next match Saturday, losing 9-8 (7), but won the consolation match, 8-4. Bodine and junior Ebie Wilson fell in their first doubles match of the tournament Friday, 8-1. The pair of sophomore Hayley Everett and freshman Paige Bahnsen also fell in the first round of doubles, 8-1.
