Junior defensive tackle Chase Pittman was arrested for second-degree battery on Jul. 7 at Bogie’s Bar and Grill.
He was suspended from the team by Coach Les Miles until charges were cleared.
“[Miles] basically told me you shouldn’t have been out there—you shouldn’t have been doing it, don’t put yourself in that situation ever again,” Pittman said. “I have learned a lot of things. I don’t know, it has just changed me.”
Sophomore fullback Shawn Jordan was suspended on May 19, two days after he was arrested in El Paso, Texas and charged with possession of Stanozolol and Dromostanolone, two forms of steroids that are banned by the NCAA.
“It was pretty much an isolated incident,” Jordan said. “I didn’t test positive for anything—I’ve never taken anything so everything is cleared now. From now on, I will be more aware of my surroundings and know the people I am with and what they have on them. That’s the advice I would give to anyone. I am just trying to get ready for this football season now.”
Jordan and Pittman rejoined the team before Aug. 7, the start of fall camp.
