The LSU University Recreation Center is an on campus facility that provides great opportunities for all LSU students.
One opportunity provided by the UREC is Sport Clubs. These Sport Clubs are formed by LSU students who are passionate about a certain sport.
From badminton to powerlifting, joining a Sport Club can help students get involved and form new connections. LSU student and power lifting team member Jason Paulin says
“It’s a real bonding experience to help build community.”
According to the LSU UREC website, “the commitment level varies depending on the club and their level of competition.”
There are women, men, and co-ed clubs. The UREC has an inclusion statement on their website stating that no member shall be excluded for any reasons.
If you're just looking for a new hobby or want to compete on a national or regional level, joining one of the 27 Sport Clubs can help you reach your goals.
“I think students should join a sports club because it feels good to be a part of something at LSU.”
