Baton Rouge will receive its newest coffee shop near the intersection of Burbank and Lee.
Dutch Bros Coffee is a drive-through coffee shop chain that offers customizable drinks and personalized service. The West Coast coffee chain is hoping to get its final development plan approved by the Baton Rouge City-Parish Planning Commision for the 950-square-foot location, later in March. If approved, the location will be located near Andy’s Frozen Custard on Lee Drive, just minutes from LSU.
Brothers Dane and Travis Boersma opened their first coffee cart shop in 1992 in Grant Pass, Oregon. The first franchise opened in 2000. Twenty five years later, Dutch Bros has more than 950 locations across the country. The company has aimed to improve lives over the years through charity events and givebacks like Drink One For Dane, an event to raise funds for ALS and honor co-founder Dane after his diagnosis.
Dutch Bros does not only limit themselves with coffee. In 2012, the company introduced an exclusive drink: Dutch Bros Blue Rebel. This energy drink was created by the company, but is completely customizable for customers. Whether it be coffee or energy drinks, a Dutch Bros near LSU’s campus will be sure to keep students and faculty energized.
