Productivity Hour | East Baton Rouge Parish Library
If you struggle to focus alone, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library is hosting a productivity hour where anyone 16 or older can bring work, school or their hobby to a silent focus area. This event is from 6 to 7 p.m., perfect for those who like to get their work done in the evening. Free Wi-fi access, paper, pens and light refreshments will be available, along with laptops upon request.

An Evening with Veterans | Louisiana Old State Capitol
In conjunction with the “Vietnam Experience: 50th Anniversary of the End of the War” series, the Old State Capitol is hosting a Veterans panel where veterans Colonel Strickland, Sarah Anderson, Richard O’Brien, Senator Franklin Foil and Johnny Joubert will reflect on their personal story, the challenges they have faced and what it means to serve.
The panel will take place from 5 to 6 p.m., with a following reception that will end at 7 p.m. Anyone interested must register in advance here.
LSU Symphony Orchestra Presents “King of Instruments” | St. Joseph Cathedral
The LSU Symphony Orchestra will be launching with a performance featuring three distinct works, each displaying the hard work and dedication of the musicians. In the second song of the night, LSU professors Johanna Yarbrough and Paul Groves will join the performance, an occurrence you do not want to miss. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m., so be sure to purchase a ticket before they sell out.

Karaoke Party at Edge Lounge | Edge Lounge at L’Auberge Casino Hotel
The Edge Lounge in the L’Auberge Casino Hotel hosts a weekly Wednesday night Karaoke party where those 21 and older can sing their hearts out for the crowd. Beginning at 10 p.m., everyone will have the chance to brave the stage up until midnight.

Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley | Reilly Theatre
Fans of Jane Austen have the opportunity to be transported into the world of “Pride and Prejudice” for a holiday play written by Lauren Gunderson and Margo Malcon. Follow Mary Bennet, the middle-sister of Elizabeth and Jane Bennet, as she realizes she is growing romantic feelings for Mr. Darcy’s bookish cousin.
There are many opportunities to watch this romance unfold. The show will run until Sunday, November 16, but only on select days. The showtime also varies, so be sure to check the time and day when purchasing a ticket.

Rocking On The River Concert Series | Town Square Plaza
Featuring blues, zydeco, oldies and more, this three week concert series is open to anyone who will get the river rocking. Local and regional bands will perform live while attendees have the opportunity to taste delicious Louisiana foods and shop local craft vendors. For some quality family time, visit the children’s zone where games can be played for free prizes. This event takes place November 7, 14 and 21 from 5 to 8 p.m., a perfect way to end your day.
Eight Fluid Ounces 2025 | Glassell Gallery
The LSU School of Art is hosting their biennial “Cup Show,” curated by Ruth Easterbrook, a guest juror chosen by the LSU School of Art Ceramic Artist Student Association. The exhibit is open from November 7 to December 12, featuring a variety of ceramic works, some of which will be available for purchase. Other small events, including a lecture by Easterbrook, will take place throughout the duration of the exhibit and can be found here.

Super Science Saturday | Pete Maravich Assembly Center
For a day filled with science fun, visit the PMAC where the upper concourse will be full of hand-on experiment stations hosted by LSU departments, local industry partners and campus organizations. These mini-science lessons are curated to be enjoyed by all ages, and are open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bonsai Workshop | Agile Brewing
For a hands-on lesson on the art of Bonsai, visit Agile Brewing where you can learn the fundamentals of potting, pruning and designing a bonsai tree from 1 to 3 p.m.. Be sure to invite your friends and arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time to order food and drinks and pick out the tree that speaks to you. Tickets for this event can be purchased here, and those under 21 must contact Agile Brewing for their underage policy.
The Marriage of Figaro | Louisiana State University
The LSU’s Turner-Fischer Center for Opera presents “Le Nozze di Figaro” a thrilling opera performance in which Figaro and Susanna’s wedding day is put in jeopardy by Count Almaviva, who has his eyes set on the bride. To save the wedding, Figaro, Susanna and the Countess do everything they can to keep Count Almavia at bay.
To find out if the wedding is saved, you can purchase a ticket for the show here. The show begins at 3 p.m., but if you can’t make it, there is another showing earlier in the week on Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m.
