Florida is seemingly out of the hunt for Lane Kiffin and doesn’t expect to land the premier coach who has become the hottest commodity in the offseason coaching market, according to a new report by GatorsOnline.
The report was confirmed by On3’s Chris Low and ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Kiffin, currently the head coach for Ole Miss, seems to be down to staying there or leaving for LSU as his options.
LSU has aggressively courted Kiffin to replace fired coach Brian Kelly and Kiffin has been the program’s top target, earlier reports have indicated.
According to GatorOnline, Florida has moved onto other options for its next head coach and was concerned by Kiffin’s “erratic communication.”
Ole Miss Athletic Director Keith Carter said last week that Kiffin’s decision would be announced Saturday so as to not distract from the team’s Egg Bowl rivalry matchup with Mississippi State Friday.
