LSU gymnastics’ Kailin Chio continues to make history in her collegiate career as she has garnered yet another SEC Gymnast of the Week award in 2026.
This is the sophomore’s fourth award this season, as she earned the accolade coming off one of her best performances yet at Oklahoma. Chio earned two perfect 10s in a single meet and has now earned perfect scores in back-to-back competitions.
Throughout the night, she found a strong pair of 9.925s on the uneven bars and floor exercise, but 10s on beam and vault would carry her to another all-around title by the end of the night.
The young gymnast now holds five perfect scores in her career, four of which come from this season alone. Chio’s individual all-around also marks the highest all-around score on the road in program history with a total of 39.850, just under her season high of 38.875.
Chio also now finds herself nationally ranked at No. 1 on vault and beam and No. 2 in the all-around, just behind UCLA star Jordan Chiles.
With seven meets down and four to go in the regular season, an added 22 event titles this season to the 45 she has earned in the first two years of her career continue to set the bar higher for Chio with each coming week.
As her momentum is showing no signs of slowing, Chio continues to impress all audiences. LSU’s upcoming double-meet weekend is another opportunity for her to rise to the challenge.
