LSU Gymnastics wins the fourth annual Podium Challenge with a score of 198.200 at the Raising Cane’s River Center. LSU Head Coach Jay Clark was happy with his team’s performance.
“That is just the depth that we have, but its only depth if we develop it and use it. So I was glad we were able to get in here and do a little bit of that”.
All-Around Kalin Chia got another 10.00 on beam in Sunday Night’s meet, but Clark believes that credit should also go to the rest of the team.
“When you talk about those tens, you have to include the kids that went ahead of her and sort of backed her into a corner. She only had to go up if it got any better”.
This meet marks two meets in three days which can be a lot for the players this late into the season. Clark likes how it prepares his team for the post-season.
“It gives us a taste of what that two meets in three days is gonna look like once we get to the post-season. Its just a confidence builder”.
The Tigers next matchup will be on the road against Florida where they will hope to keep their win streak alive as the post-season creeps up on them.
