LSU women’s basketball landed one of the biggest fish in the transfer portal in point guard, Jada Williams from Iowa State.
The former Cyclone was ranked the No. 10 player and No. 1 point guard in ESPN’s Charlie Creme’s transfer rankings for the 2026-27 season.
Williams was one of nine Iowa State players who decided to enter the transfer portal following a 22-10 season that ended after a first-round loss to No. 9 seed Syracuse.
With Jada Richard entering the portal and Bella Hines committing to TCU, it leaves a glaring hole at the guard position, especially at the point guard spot.
The junior from Kansas City, Mo., was the second leading scorer for Iowa State and finished this season averaging 15.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 7.7 assists.
Williams also earned a spot on the All-Big 12 First Team this season.
Before joining the Cyclones, she spent two seasons with Arizona, averaging 11 points, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals, and was selected to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team for the 2023-24 season.
Williams has continued to grow as a player and hopes to do the same with the Tigers as she steps into a significant role for head coach Kim Mulkey next season.
She brings another scoring option next to Mikaylah Williams, MiLaysia Fulwiley and Florida transfer Laila Reynolds.
Williams does well getting to the basket and knocking down mid-range shots, but the most dangerous part of her game is her playmaking ability. She’s always looking to make the extra pass as she finds the open teammate, whether it’s on the perimeter or down low in the post.
The Big 12 assist leader will be a complementary piece to Williams and Fulwiley and will be a nice addition for LSU.
