Oh no, the semester’s almost over! But the tech world never sleeps.
1. The Buddy Cup
Alcohol can make fast friends even faster with Budweiser’s new Buddy Cups, pint glasses that have a Facebook-connected computer chip in the base.
So when two people make a toast, they become Facebook friends the second the glasses touch.
An interesting idea, but I don’t know how the glasses would be popular. Bars and restaurants would have to buy the glasses, which are undoubtably more expensive than regular ones, or allow patrons to bring in his or her own cup.
But, according to The Drum, the cups will only be used at Budweiser sponsored events anyway.
2. iTunes turns 10 & WWDC
Everyone’s favorite music management application turned 10 yesterday, and even though no one showed up to the party, iTunes still kept its promise to be a bloated, painfully slow and convoluted piece of software that at this point, only takes up space on your computer.
I’m not sorry.
In other Apple news, WWDC, Cupertino’s developer conference, sold out in two minutes this year, which is pretty impressive considering how Apple’s servers used to crash every time it released a new iPhone.
But if the conference and iOS 7 don’t deliver on rumors to be “overhauled,” then it won’t matter.
