Senior swimmers Craig Hamilton and Andrei Tuomola and sophomore diver Alex Bettridge all qualified for a spot in the top-eight of their respective events at the conclusion of the second day of the Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships in College Station, Texas.
Hamilton overcame a slow start in the 500 free to salvage a sixth-place finish with a time of 4:19.57, good for an NCAA ‘B’ cut.
Tuomola finished fifth in the 50 free with a time of 19.76, marking his highest SEC finish in the 50 free.
Bettridge’s score of 301.85 was good enough to place fourth in the one-meter diving event.
At the end of the second day of competition the LSU men’s team is in sixth place with 272.5 points and the women’s team is in fifth place with 277 points.
Swimming action picks back up again tomorrow with the prelims starting at 10 a.m.
