As any O.G (Original Gladiator) knows, it can be difficult to keep up with the fast-paced world of Pope & Associates. So, now that season three is in full swing, let’s take a look at the key moments from last week’s episode to help us prepare for yet another intense hour of TV.
“Say Hello to My Little Friend” Recap:
Cyrus and James get steamy
Please. Make. It. Stop.
The senator Cyrus is being questioned about happens to be Olivia’s latest client. The senator was on trial for allegedly murdering a young woman who he had been sexting with. Oh, these rascally politicians!
After an episode of digging into details that don’t really affect the main characters, the senator’s wife testifies that her husband was with her during the time of the murder. After he is acquitted, however, the wife reveals to Olivia that she actually murdered the young sextee. Talk about scandal!
It should be noted that David Rosen was the prosecutor in this case meaning he lost to Olivia. Again.
Speaking of David, he rekindled his relationship with Abby in this episode after she, fittingly, sends him a sext.
Mellie sticks her foot in her mouth
After Mellie is asked on TV about an up-and-coming senator that is vying to take Fitz’s office in the next Presidential election, Mellie has nothing but sweet words to say.
But, we all know that there’s nothing ‘sweet’ about Mellie. As soon as the cameras turn off, Mellie says what she really feels, but forgets that her mic is still on.
“Give any piece of trailer trash a push-up bra and a microphone, and the stupid flyovers will eat it up like fried Twinkies.”
The press went wild with that quote, obviously. Does this mean Olivia will have to represent Mellie this week? Let’s hope so because wouldn’t that be magnificent?!
While Mellie isn’t bothered by the bad press, Cyrus almost has another heart attack because the senator is now gaining momentum because of the free press. So in true Cyrus fashion, he sends a young aide to the senator’s hometown to find some dirt on her. They end up finding that the senator was once pregnant as a teen, but no one knows what happened to the baby.
The up-and-coming democratic senator in question, Josie Marcus, is played by the hilarious Lisa Kudrow. Get ready because we will definitely be seeing more of Kudrow in future episodes!
Operation Remington
Ever since the season premiere, we’ve been dying to know what’s in the Operation Remington (OpRem for short) file.
At this point in the season we know that 1) Fitz, Rowan, and Jake are involved, 2) the incident happened during some air mission in the Middle East, and 3) something went terribly wrong.
Huck is (kind of) involved, too, because him and Jake decided to team up to take down Rowan. Also, The pilot he killed in the last episode had numbers tattooed on him which Huck remembered and realized were numbers for a flight plan. When Huck looks up the flight plan, he sees that it was the flight for the OpRem mission, which listed the dead pilot as the man on the mission (ha), but the pilot was actually Fitz! Are you as confused as me yet?
Basically, we have confirmation that Fitz was the pilot on this mysterious OpRem mission.
At the end of the episode, we see Fitz enter a room and (TA-DA!) Rowan is in the room! At this point, it’s very safe to assume that Fitz does not know that Rowan is Olivia’s dad. Can you imagine his reaction when he finds out?
3.05 – “More Cattle, Less Bull” Preview:
Yes! More Lisa Kudrow! It looks like Senator Marcus will be Olivia’s newest client.
Also, can we get into Olivia’s hair and dress for this party? Fierce!
Tune in to tonight’s episode on ABC at 10p/9c.
