In the month of April, the LSU Tigers have scored a grand total of 32 runs. Led by senior DH Sean McMullen, and reigning First-Team All-American shortstop Alex Bregman, the offense is now in full swing.
After defeating the formerly #9 ranked Bulldogs of Mississippi State in all 3 games, McMullen’s senior leadership is setting the tone for the young, and depleted from last season, baseball squad. Affectionately self-dubbed as “Rake City” the LSU Tigers struggled offensively for the majority of the first half of the season, but have finally established a rhythm at the plate.
Since finding their confidence, the Tigers are undefeated in the month of April and will continue to strive for the success they’re currently enjoying on the offensive side of the ball. If LSU hopes to be lingering in the college world series come June, the pitching staff will need to look to two of the Tigers’ most talented position players in McMullen and Bregman for an example of how to play the game.
