As the Tigers gear up to make a comeback after losing 13-3 against Northwestern State, they have not lost the faith from their electric fanbase. We wanted to get the opinions from students on campus on who they think will win, putting the fate of the game into the hands of the fans.
The Tigers are currently ranked No. 7 in the NCAA. But, after losing to Northwestern State 13-3, there has been talk about whether the bull pin and pitching line up will step up to the challenge. LSU is currently 12-6 in conference play, and has a loaded pitching line up with starters like William Schmidt, Anthony Eyanson and Chase Shores.
But Tennessee is defending National Champions, after winning the College World Series in 2024. The Volunteers are currently 22-8 in conference play and have starting pitchers like Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips. The Volunteers are also on a two game win streak and will be bringing the heat.
While the Tigers won the popular vote, they will have to get their offense started early and get the bats swinging. If they can get some hits early on, it will make it easier for the pitching line up to do their job.
Yet, the pitchers have to get warmed up early and pitch for as many innings as possible. In the final game against Alabama, the Tigers allowed eight pitchers to take the mound and lead them to a defeat. Even though they won the series, they lost the final game, not setting a positive tone going into this weekend.
