President’s Obama new initiative on college sexual assault brings light to programs provided by the Student Health Center.
1 in 5 women are victims of sexual assault but with some of the programs  offered by the Student Health Center such as the Lighthouse program and SANE victims of sexual assault can get the help needed after traumatic events.  Obama’s new initiative will help schools and victims of sexual assault more programs and funding that may be beneficial to many college campuses.  
Sierra Fowler, Wellness and Health Promotions states that Obama’s new initiative will help promote a violent free environment. Fowler also states that that this initiative will help provide services for victims of sexual assault whether it be medical care or legal. This initiative will also help fund programs such as SANE and The Lighthouse program.
