Have you ever heard of two or three snow days in the Deep South? LSU students have been enjoying the rare wintery weather and sharing their experiences.
Road closures, school canceled and parish curfews is what the Baton Rouge area has hearing for over a week now, but that hasn’t stopped LSU students from having a good time out in the snow.
Students from northern cities like Chicago say the snow days are nothing new in their lives. Born-and-raised Louisianans enjoyed the beautiful white scenery on campus and sliding down the Indian Mounds.
The slippery sidewalks on campus did not stop LSU to reopen on Thursday at 10 to faculty, students and staff. Yet freezing temperatures and accumulation of sleet and icy roads still left many residents in the LSU community stranded at home for the past three days.
The ice is seen everywhere around campus. Multiple snow warnings in the Deep South are unheard of especially within the past couple of days. Could global warming and climate change be redefined?
