Supporters of the Senate candidates surrounded the Journalism Building at LSU to support their candidate in the debate, but Cassidy, Maness and Landrieu weren’t the only ones trying to get their message to the public. The Libertarian party, Women’ Speak Out Pact and Students with Sensible Drug Policy stood outside the Journalism Building to bring awareness to their causes. In particularly, Brannon McMorris, the Libertarian candidate for Senate, was there to bring awareness to third party candidates who were not allowed to participate in the debate. He explained that he did not meet the polling or fundraising criteria, so he was barred from debating the other candidates. The atmosphere outside of the debate proved one thing. This race is getting more interesting by the day.
