Terrorism has been a huge topic of conversation lately with the rise of the new extremist group ISIS. ISIS has made a big stir by posting brutal beheading videos while also threatening the American government and anyone one that allies with them.
Since terrorism has come into play, all Muslims have become unfairly associated to these groups and treated as a threat to our nation.
“I want to make it clear that Muslims do not condone killing, beheading or any of the other things ISIS is doing.” said Emad Nofal from the Islamic Center of Baton Rouge.
Students at LSU also face problems as well. Freshmen Seema Morad sat down with us to discuss some of the problems she was forced to deal with throughout her life.
“People would always think of me as a Muslim.” Seema told us.
Along with bullying, Seema’s family faced some other problems as well. Her mother used to wear a head cover but was forced to stop due to comments being made to her by strangers.
