The LSU campus in Baton Rouge was overrun Wednesday morning with new freshmen eagerly anticipating move-In day. Because of the large amount of baggage the new arrivals brought, the LSU Athletic Department dispatched its athletes to help the new students move in.
Football players, encouraged by the support they receive each Saturday night, were among the most enthusiastic movers. The players wanted to provide a sense of family and community that are unique hallmarks of the LSU community.
“We want them to feel that this is a safe and secure place for them.” Freshman receiver DJ Chark said
All of the LSU Football players spent the morning helping new students move into Kirby Smith, Broussard, South, West, Laville, and Evangeline Halls.
Now the players return to their normal routine and prepare for their season open against Wisconsin on August 30th.
