Insomnia Cookies, a popular dessert shop, is now open at 128 W. Chimes St.
The shop features cookies, brownies, ice cream, and cold milk. Cookie cakes and ice cream sandwiches are also options. These are available in-store but can also be delivered daily from noon to 3 a.m.
The chain started in 2003 at the University of Pennsylvania, and was the idea of student Seth Berkowitz.
This is the restaurant’s first Louisiana location. Customers who visit today will receive free cookie coupons that are valid throughout next week. There will also be student marketing representatives on campus to hand the coupons out as well.
“It’s really the whole [Baton Rouge] community,” said Insomnia Cookies marketing manager Giana Marinelli. “We look at the bigger picture and [this location] seemed like a great fit.”
