Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning brought the popular ‘70s rock band back to life in the 2010 film with the same title, “The Runaways.”
Stewart plays Joan Jett, the infamous rock singer, songwriter and guitarist. Jett got her start to fame in The Runaways and Stewart depicts that rise to fame in the film.
Stewart’s style is also incredibly realistic to Jett’s style during the era. The clothing consisted of primarily darks and used other elements like silver jewelry and leather.

Buying t-shirts, tanks tops and pants in black, white and gray is the simple part of this style recreation. The hard part is finding good leather and jewelry to match.

Finding the perfect leather jacket, vest or pants takes a lot of trial and error. Don’t settle for the first piece you see. Take the time to go out and find one that has the ideal pocket and collar design for you. Also decide if you want an abundance of buckles or very few.
