Brandon McCartney, also known as Lil B ’The BasedGod’ is a rapper, author, and composer from Berkeley, California. Despite being unsigned, Lil B has built a massive following from his unmatched work ethic and tremendous social media presence. Stylistically, Lil B’s music ranges from more satirical looks at modern hip hop (often performed in conjunction with his famous Cooking Dance) and more “serious” songs about social issues, spreading love, and staying positive and true to oneself, or what has come to be known as being “based.” Aside from putting out multiple mixtapes per year, Lil B also plays many live shows and lectures at colleges around America.
