A white Chevrolet Suburban hit a University student riding a longboard in front of the Music and Dramatic Arts Building on Wednesday afternoon.
Theater senior Madison Holcomb was on her cell phone when she witnessed the event. Holcomb said the impact of the Suburban hitting the student was audible from the entrance of the building.
“I was walking in from of the Music and Dramatic Arts Building when I heard the noise,” she said. “I turned and looked to see the guy on the ground.”
Holcomb, an emergency medical technician, checked the student’s vitals to ensure he was in stable condition The student was put on a stretcher and removed from the scene in stable condition less than 20 minutes after the accident.
The student appeared to be talking and moving his arms.
