LSU Health’s hospitals across the southeast will remain open throughout the week despite the impending affects of Hurricane Isaac’s landfall, according to a news release.
Both the Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge and the Interim LSU Public Hospital in New Orleans have discontinued elective surgeries and closed outpatient clinics to prepare for injuries and health problems related to the storm.
Normal operations are planned to resume on Friday, August 31, according to the release.
Other LSU hospitals in Independence, Houma, Bogalusa and Lafayette are also preparing for storm emergencies but will resume normal operation on Thursday.
