According to a news release by the North Carolina Department of Administration, the Eugenics compensation bill was passed in the North Carolina House of Representatives yesterday evening.
The bill includes Gov. Bev Perdue’s call to pay a $50,000 lump sum compensation to living victims, as well as funding the continuation of the N.C. Justice for Sterilization Victims Foundation, which provides services to victims.
