The LSU women’s basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament with an 80-36 victory Friday against Ole Miss.
The loss was the third time in three seasons the Lady Rebels lost to the Lady Tigers in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
LSU senior guard Quianna Chaney led all scorers in the game with 17 points. Senior center Sylvia Fowles had a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds.
The top-seeded Lady Tigers outrebounded Ole Miss, 50-34, and held the Lady Rebels to 23 percent shooting from the field.
LSU will face Kentucky in Saturday’s semifinals.
