The LSU Board of Supervisors approved contracts Friday for incoming Athletic Director Joe Alleva, new men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson and returning football coach Les Miles.
The Board unanimously approved Miles and Johnson’s contracts, but Alleva’s contract received two dissenting votes from Alvin Kimble and Dr. John Georges.
The Board also passed two proposals expected to raise student fees.
The first proposal will extend the LSU System energy surcharge, which was set to expire in July, to allow System institutions to charge all full-time students a fee to alleviate rising energy costs. The Board amended the surcharge to fee students based on course hour enrollment.
The other Board approved proposal will raise tuition and nonresident fees for incoming students to the Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
