Not every Tiger football fan can have a crystal trophy, but starting this week, fans can quench their thirst and show their purple and gold pride with their own championship memorabilia – Coca-Cola is releasing 8-ounce glass bottles to commemorate LSU’s 2007 BCS National Championship title.
Coca-Cola, the official soft drink of LSU Athletics, is selling the bottles in six-packs throughout Louisiana and parts of Mississippi. The bottles began appearing in stores this week.
The Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Co. produced 480,000 bottles, or 80,000 six-packs. Prices will vary by retailer, and the bottles are available at grocery and convenience stores according to Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Marketing Vice President Melanie Clark.
The bottles feature the LSU Tiger’s eye and the case depicts Head Coach Les Miles holding the crystal trophy.
“Coca-Cola has always provided the Baton Rouge community with special keepsakes for memorable events, and we’ve been a proud supporter of LSU for many years,” Clark said.
