The No. 2-seed LSU baseball team captured the seventh Southeastern Conference tournament title in school history Sunday with an 8-2 win against Ole Miss.
The victory was the 20th in a row for the Tigers (43-16-1), who have not lost since an April 19 matchup with Georgia.
The win also secured an NCAA Regional at Alex Box Stadium. The entire NCAA tournament bracket will be announced Monday morning.
Michael Hollander, Blake Dean and Ryan Schimpf each had two hits against the Rebels. Dean, who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and first baseman Matt Clark each had a home run.
LSU scored five in the fifth inning to take a 6-2 lead into the sixth inning.
Freshman Daniel Bradshaw started for LSU and gave up five hits and two earned runs in three innings. Louis Coleman pitched six relief innings, allowing three hits and striking out seven.
