On the heels of the Louisiana presidential primaries, campaigning for the Student Government spring elections is right around the corner. Candidate filing opens Wednesday at 9 a.m. and will remain open until Friday at 4:30 p.m. Interested students can stop by the Red River Room on the third floor of the Student Union to put their names on the ballot. Jacob Gower, SG commissioner of elections, said there are more than 70 positions to fill for fall 2008. Available positions include president and vice president in addition to positions in every college council and 41 available Senate seats. Gower said students may only apply to councils of colleges in which they are enrolled. Additionally, the University Court has three openings, and the Union Board needs one more representative. Any full-time student not on probation is eligible for qualification.
