Despite harsh weather conditions oin the final round, LSU’s men’s golf team won their first tournament in three years, sharing the honor with No. 24 Texas. Led by true freshman Sang Yi, the Tigers shot an 8-over 872 in the 2008 Gopher Invitation this weekend. Yi showed maturity in his first collegiate tournament with scores of 2-under 70 on Friday, 1-over 73 on Saturday and 1-over 73 on Sunday for an even-par score of 216 to finish the tournament tied for fifth place. Sophmores John Peterson and Clayton Rotz also joined Yi in the top-10 with finishes of seventh and eighth, respectively. LSU travels to Birmingham, Ala. for the fourth-annual Shoal Creek Intercollegiate on Sept. 22
