Former N.C. State swimmer Cullen Jones, 24, became the second black swimmer to win a gold medal for the U.S. in the the 4×100 meter freestyle relay at the Beijing Olympics Sunday.
Jones clocked a 47.65 on the third leg. He was joined by Michael Phelps, Garrett Weber-Gale, Jason Lezak in the world-record swim.
The United States team came in at 3 minutes and 8.24 seconds, breaking a world record, and taking back the championship title after its losses in 2000 and 2004.
