Former LSU athlete Richard Thompson earned his second silver medal of the Beijing Olympics on Friday.
Thompson, who won silver in the 100-meter dash Saturday morning, won his latest medal as the anchor of Trinidad and Tobago’s 4×100 relay team.
Trinidad and Tobago finished the race in 38.06 seconds, nearly a second after Jamaica’s gold-medal team.
Jamaica’s 37.10-second finish broke a 16-year-old world record set by the United States in the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
Usain Bolt, this year’s 100-meter and 200-meter gold medal winner, earned his third gold medal of the Olympics with Jamaica’s victory.
