Former LSU linebacker Derrick Odom no longer faces misdemeanor charges related to an October incident after a judge dismissed his case Thursday.
Odom was to stand trial for the charge of criminal damage to property linked to a fight that occurred Oct. 26 outside the Varsity Theatre.
City Judge Laura P. Davis dismissed the case after Alexander Loomis, a key witness for the prosecution, failed to appear in court for the second time. Loomis claimed his car was damaged during the incident.
Odom was removed from the team shortly after the incident and now plays for the University of Memphis.
