BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A state senator from Metairie has been charged by the Louisiana Board of Ethics with failing to file accurate reports of her campaign finances during her past three elections. The charges center on Sen. Julie Quinn’s activities during her 2002 campaign for the Jefferson Parish School Board and her Senate races in 2005 and 2007.Quinn, a Republican, blamed the complaints on her ex-husband, hotelier Patrick Quinn. She says he filed the complaints to embarrass and harass her, and she says she’s confident the case will be decided in her favor. The charges will be heard by a panel of administrative law judges. But Kathleen Allen, the top attorney for the ethics board, said no hearing date has been set for Quinn’s case.
