Kevin Mulcahy, political science professor, was arrested and accused of acting as a peeping Tom early Friday morning.
Kristine Calongne, Universtiy spokesperson, said Mulcahy has been placed on paid adminstrative leave pending further investigation.
The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed that Mulcahy was issued a misdemeanor summons and left the scene with his lawyer.
The victim, a University student, told The Daily Reveille that a car followed him to his apartment while he walked on Highland Road in the North Gate area. The victim said the driver got out of the car and approached his apartment.
The victim, whose name is being withheld because he is concerned about retribution, called the police and filed a complaint. The police arrested Mulcahy at 2:48 a.m.
Mulachy referred comments to his lawyer Drew Louviere.
Louviere said he has not read the misdemeanor summons and cannot comment on the statute of the arrest. He said his client is not guilty of a peeping Tom charge.
